Jordan Honey, 29, was sentenced to a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years after attacking a woman in her Torquay home.
A man has been sentenced to a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years after attacking a woman in her Torquay home.
Jordan Honey, 29, of Felixstowe in Suffolk, armed himself with a zombie knife and travelled 300+ miles on the train before brutally attacking a woman in her home in Torquay.
He appeared at Exeter Crown Court on Tuesday, November 3, having been convicted at trial of intentional strangulation, causing grievous bodily harm and three other offences.
He was sentenced to a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years.
The court heard how on October 11, 2025, Honey assaulted the victim.
On October 18, 2025, Honey sent the victim a number of threatening messages.
Honey then travelled by train from Suffolk to Devon armed with the knife to confront her at her address.
After arriving Honey barged his way inside and produced the knife.
He held it and gestured towards her stomach.
Honey then proceeded to corner the victim and hit her neck with the knife, before pressing the knife against her neck and stabbing the wall.
Honey made repeated threats that he was going to kill the victim and her family.
At this point the victim grabbed the knife in a bid to push it away and protect herself, sustaining injuries to her hands.
Honey then grabbed her by the hair and punched her to the face.
He continued the assault by banging her head against the floor by her hair.
During the attack, Honey said: “I’m going to kill you now” before a neighbour intervened and Honey fled.
He was arrested at his father’s address in Suffolk the following afternoon where officers seized the knife.
The victim was treated at hospital for wounds to her hands.
Officer in the case, Detective Constable Joseph Wynne-Davies said: “This was a truly terrifying attack in which the completely blameless victim thought she was going to die.”
“Honey took the decision to arm himself with a potentially deadly weapon and travel for many hours to Devon.”
“On this journey Honey had ample time to recognise that carrying the weapon was highly dangerous and could be deadly.”
“Once he arrived at the address Honey exploded into violence before eventually leaving the scene and returning to Suffolk where he was arrested.”
“Zombie knives are incredibly dangerous and there are countless examples of when they have caused fatal injuries.”
“It is partly due to good fortune that this wasn’t the case in this incident.”
“I would like to thank the victim who has been incredibly courageous in describing what happened to her and remaining engaged throughout the court process.”
“It is thanks to her bravery that an incredibly dangerous man has been sentenced to a life term including a significant period in custody.”
