Torquay police have revealed how a wanted man made a dash for freedom by hiding in the Torquay offices of a travel agent.
But the only holiday he booked was a spell back behind bars.
They described the incident on their Facebook page:
“Well today a male wanted on recall to prison decided to try and book his dream getaway.
"Officers from Torquay neighbourhood team located the male and gave chase for a significant distance through the town centre before the male darted into a nearby travel agents.
“Unfortunately the male’s hide and seek skills were questionable and he was found hiding behind a desk chair.
“The male has booked himself a trip back to HMP. “
