People in Torbay who rely on adult social care are set to benefit from a new computer system that will cut delays, reduce admin, and make it easier for staff to coordinate care.
Torbay Council has announced it will introduce a new digital system called Liquidlogic, which will be used by social care staff at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
It’s expected to make a big difference for both the people who use services and the staff who deliver them—cutting paperwork, improving communication between teams, and helping with faster assessments and reviews.
The system will also bring children’s and adult services onto the same platform, making life easier for young people moving into adult care.
In the future, the technology will allow people to log in and see their own care records, helping them feel more in control of the support they receive.
Councillor Hayley Tranter, who leads on adult and community services, said: “This is something people and staff have been asking for. We want to make the system easier to use and help staff spend more time supporting people and less time on admin.”
Anna Coles, Director of Adults and Community Services at Torbay Council, added: “This new system will help make sure people in Torbay get the support they need, when they need it, and in a more joined-up way.”
The change is being funded by Torbay Council and will be supported by a company called Futures, who are helping to move over the existing data. The new system is expected to go live next year.
