Young people across Torbay are being recognised for their achievements once again as nominations open for the second annual Children and Young People’s Awards.
Created by Torbay Youth Council in partnership with Imagine This Torbay, the awards are open to anyone under 25 living in the Bay — and aim to shine a light on local young people making a difference in their communities, careers, or personal lives.
From young entrepreneurs to environmental champions, volunteers to role models, there are ten award categories designed to celebrate everything from leadership and resilience to hidden talents and positivity.
Last year’s inaugural awards proved a huge success and organisers Katie Chivers and Rebekah Daws say they hope to build on that momentum.
“Young people living in Torbay often feel overlooked and undervalued,” they said.
“We believe these awards can become a trusted platform for young people to celebrate each other’s strengths, skills and triumphs.”
This year’s awards will be presented during Torbay Children’s Week on Paignton Green, which takes place from 19 to 23 August.
Nominations are now open and must be submitted by 10pm on Sunday 10 August.
