Ellis Tanner loves her Torbay primary school so much she has started a special fund-raising campaign to say thanks before she heads off to ' 'big'' school.
Ellis, 11, moved to Paignton with her family from London three years ago and has enjoyed every minute of her time at Kings Ash Academy.
Proud mum Megan Swain says: "Ellis is due to leave for high school this year. We moved to Paignton three years ago and she joined the school in year 4.
"She has absolutely loved this school and done so well academically. She wanted to give something back to them before she left and decided to do a fundraiser to raise some money to buy some games for wet weather play, because currently there isn’t much to do.
"She was aiming high to raise £100 but has done so much better than she ever thought and is currently up to £185 online donations and £10 cash donations. She will be taking in her huge stash of goodies for the school on Monday at the beginning of the day.
"We are so very proud of her ( we know we’re biased because we’re her parents!) it's such a beautiful and selfless thing to do. We wanted to share the news."
Her family set up Ellis a just giving page - https://www.justgiving.com/
Ellis says there: "I’m a year 6 pupil and just about to leave school. I would really like to give back to the school as a thank you for making my time here great.
"The worst part about school for me was when the weather is bad and we can’t play outside, it’s very boring and not a lot to do. So I'm raising £100 for my primary school. I want to buy some board games and fun things to do when it’s indoor play. As well as raising this £100 I will also be using some of my own pocket money."
