Motorcycle collision in Torquay leaves rider with serious injuries

Police were called at around 11.35pm on 15 February to Queensway in Torquay, where a collision had occurred.

It was reported that the collision involved a fully electric powered motorcycle and a parked unattended BMW vehicle.

The male bike rider, aged in his 20s, was located at the scene with serious injuries, and was conveyed to Torquay District Hospital. His next of kin has been made aware of the incident.

Southwest Ambulance crews, Devon and Cornwall Response and Road Policing Units attended the scene and an investigation was commenced.

The road remained closed for approximately two hours until enquiries at the scene had been completed.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank those members of the public who assisted at the scene.

A police spokesperson added: "We are appealing for any witnesses, who were not spoken to at the location, particularly those with Dashcam footage of the collision and/or CCTV of the collision to come forward quoting reference number 502400377981."
