The A382 was closed for several hours

A teenager has suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident near Newton Abbot.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the accident on the A382.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian at around 9.20pm on Tuesday September 19.

The pedestrian, a 16-year-old local boy, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed while an investigation was conducted by the Roads Policing Team.

Officers have thanked the public for their patience whilst the road was closed. It reopened at around 5am today (Wednesday September 20).

Police are appealing for information or dashcam footage that could help with enquiries. They can be contacted police via their website or by calling 101 quoting log 792 of 19/09/23.
