Two men died in separte road crashes in Devon in a 24-hour period.

A driver died in a single-vehicle crash that closed the A30 for most of the day on Saturday.

Police, who are appealing for witnesses, were called to the scene near Yarcombe at midday where a white Ford Fiesta had been involved in a collision.

A man in his thirties and from Somerset was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The A30 was closed in both directions for several hours. A police spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the public for their patience."

Anyone who witnessed this incident or who has dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 354 of 1st July 2023.

Just 24 hours earlier, a 57-year-old man died in an accident on the A377 at Crediton.
