The ERBID Company are delighted to sponsor the Tourism Business of the Year award in the Torbay Weekly Naturally Inspiring Business Awards 2023 - and want as many tourism and hospitality businesses to enter as possible.
"Winning awards is a great way to raise the positive profile of your business,” said Chris Hart, chairman of the English Riviera BID (ERBID) Company and chief executive of Wollens solicitors.
The ERBID Company has itself won many awards in the visitor information service category of both the Devon Tourism Awards, finishing second in 2022/23, and the South West Tourism Awards.
Many other local tourism and hospitality businesses also excelled in both the Devon Awards and the South West Tourism Awards for 2022/23.
"Entering awards makes you really think about your business and how you might do things differently,” said Carolyn Custerson, chief executive of the ERBID Company.
“We always find the feedback from the judges to be really useful. We listen very carefully to their suggestions and to our customer reviews, as customer expectations are changing all the time.
"The English Riviera Visitor Information Centre situated on Torquay harbourside is open all year and serves over 70,000 visitors every year and we never stop thinking about new ideas.’’
The ERBID Company raises more than £3million every five years to promote the English Riviera as a leading UK resort.
First launched in January 2016, and with all business improvement districts operating for a five-year period, the ERBID Company was successful in securing a second positive ballot in 2020 meaning the work of the company can continue until December 31, 2026.
The ERBID Company’s role involves ‘shouting from the roof tops’ about all that the English Riviera offers and there are some amazing tourism and hospitality businesses operating across the resort with lots of continued investment and exciting new products for us to promote to the world!
Their strategic brief is to extend the season from a traditional summer season and attract more first-time visitors.
The ERBID Company team are very much looking forward to the Torbay Weekly Naturally Inspiring Business Awards and celebrating the very best tourism and hospitality businesses in the Bay.
So do please take the time to enter if you want to ‘shout from the rooftops’ about your business this year.
