Torquay’s top 25 Boutique B&B is now looking to add a Euro award to its long list of titles.
It has been nominated for the European tourism sustainability award “GrINN Awards 2022” – organised by Quartz Inn Hotels- in the category of Best Sustainable UK Accommodation.
The award nomination says the luxury boutique B&B – already winners of various local and national tourism awards as well as winning Trip Advisor world acclaim – continuously seeks to improve its environmental and social performance.
Owners Andy and Julian Banner-Price have implemented a programme of ongoing actions in order to reduce the effect of their carbon footprint, such as recycling, reducing waste, reusing as much as possible, saving on energy and water or sourcing food locally, among others.
They do their best to help preserve the local area, protect its rich geophysical history, and support the many small nearby businesses and its people.
These actions have made them earn the GrINN Award nomination, for their excellent performance in environmental, social and economical sustainability
The main objective of the organisers of the awards is to promote good sustainable practices in the hospitality sector and to increase general awareness of the impact of hospitality and tourism activities on the environment.
Hotels, pubs and other establishments and tourism leaders from 23 European countries have been nominated and the finalists will be announced in the coming weeks after the jury deliberation. The winners from each of the 50 categories will be chosen among all finalists after a public voting process.
