Ambrosian Music is presenting Duo Lamorniana, the acclaimed viola and piano duo, in a captivating concert of ‘profound Romantic works’ at the historic St Mary the Virgin Church in St Marychurch.

On Friday November 28 (7:30pm), audiences are invited to experience an evening of deep emotion and lyrical beauty’ featuring:

  • Robert Schumann: Dichterliebe Op. 48 (arranged for viola and piano by Albert Stegner)
  • Dmitri Shostakovich: Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op. 147
  • Johannes Brahms: Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op. 120 No. 1 in F minor

Duo Lamorniana – comprising violist Ricarda Schmidt and pianist Ute Weickenmeier – are renowned for their expressive and heartfelt performances. 

Originally from Germany and now based in the picturesque Cornish hamlet of Lamorna, the duo brings a wealth of professional experience from opera houses across Europe to the intimate chamber music stage.

This special concert continues the popular Music@St Mary's series, offering high-quality classical music in the warm acoustic and welcoming atmosphere of St Mary the Virgin Church.

Tickets: £15 in advance, £20 on the door (Under 16s £5). Doors open at 6:45pm. Refreshments will be available.
