Torquay Chef earns prestigious recognition

Rehan Uddin in action

The Torbay businessman who champions the UK's nationwide Asian restaurant owners has won special recognition.

Rehan Uddin's Indi-Yang restaurant in Belgrave Road, Torquay, has been listed in the prestigious National British Curry Guide 2025.

The national accolade is a testament to the dedication and innovation of Rehan Uddin, a Torquay-born chef who has been championing Asian cuisine and flying the flag for Torbay across the country.

Rehan’s work continues to gain national recognition, with regular appearances at culinary demonstrations and industry panels, including upcoming cooking showcases at Manchester’s AJ Bell Stadium and the Hilton Glasgow later this year.

Beyond his success with Indi-Yang, Rehan is also the CEO of the Asian Restaurant Owners Network, representing over 3,000 restaurants nationwide.

As the hospitality sector navigates the economic landscape of 2025, he is at the forefront of guiding restaurant owners towards sustainability and efficiency—utilising cutting-edge kitchen technology as the Rational Ambassador for Asian Cooking.

His expertise has led to the development of exclusive recipe settings for the iCombi Pro, now being used in restaurants across the globe.

This latest achievement also continues a proud family legacy. Rehan’s father played a key role in building restaurants across Torbay, and now, with Indi-Yang’s success and national recognition, the Uddin family’s contribution to the local and national food scene only grows stronger.

He says: "It is good to be able to share this exciting news."
