A man suffered a cut to his neck in an altercation in Torquay town centre.

A man suffered a cut to his neck in an altercation in Torquay town centre.

Police investigating the report of assault on Wednesday 15 January are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called at around 1pm to a report that a man had sustained a cut to his neck in an altercation with another man on Castle Road.

It is believed that both men are known to each other and there is no wider risk to members of the public.

Detective Constable Rachael Delaney said: “We would particularly like to speak to two people who we believe had a verbal interaction with both parties and would ask that they make themselves known to us.

“They could have information that would be useful for our enquiries.”

A 44 -year-old man from Torquay was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
