Police have renewed their appeal for help to trace 79-year-old David Evans man who was reported missing from Dartmouth on Friday December 20.

Following inquiries, it has been reported Mr Evans was last seen in person on the Dartmouth water taxi on Monday December 16, between 3pm and 3.30pm, which is more recently than previously reported.  The last known contact with him was on Tuesday December 17.

Officers are carrying out searches and enquiries in an effort to locate him and are appealing for the public to immediately report any sightings to him.

Coastguard, Dart Harbour and RNLI Lifeboats conducted searches of the water around Dartmouth, but these have since stood down.

Brixham Coastguard Rescue Team said they were tasked to carry out a shoreline search alongside Dartmouth Coastguard Rescue Team, Kingsbridge Coastguard Rescue Team on the River Dart, with Dart RNLI Lifeboat and RNLI Torbay Lifeboat conducting a search on the water with help from Dart harbour authority.
A coastguard helicopter from Newquay also joined in alongside the coastguard's Drone team to give them the best possible chance of spotting the missing person.
Mr Evans is described as around 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with short greying hair. It is unclear what he was last seen wearing. Police are keen to speak to anyone who has seen him on or since December 16.
They say: "If you see David or know of his whereabouts, please call police on 999, quoting log number 283 of 20/12/24."
