Organisers of one of the biggest carol concerts in the Bay are giving Torbay Weekly and Torbay Today readers an early Christmas present - the chance of free entry to the event.

Renowned international singer-songwriter Philippa Hanna will be starring at the concert on Wednesday December 18.

It is being organised by Faiths and community group Torbay United at the Riviera International Centre in Torquay.

Philippa has performed in over 1,500 shows in 25 countries and has shared the stage with stars like Leona Lewis and Lionel Richie.

Now 50 free tickets are up for grabs for our readers and audience.

Torbay United

Father Nathan Kiyaga, of Torbay United, has revealed:: "On behalf of Torbay United, I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you and the Torbay Weekly team for your valued partnership and support. As a token of our appreciation, we’d like to invite you, your team, and 50 of your readers to join us at next week’s Torbay United Carol Concert, free of charge. We’d love it if you could share this opportunity with your readers – the more, the merrier!."

To claim free tickets, please use the promo code torbayweekly at checkout when booking via the link below. This code will waive the £5 ticket price for attendees aged 18+, while tickets for under-18s are already free.

To suit different schedules, there are two concert options:

  • Afternoon Concert: 3.30pm to 5pm (doors open at 2.30pm)
  • Evening Concert: 7.30pm to 9pm (doors open at 7pm)

For families with young children, organisers are offering a “Mummy and Me” provision in the Burdett Room (downstairs from the main concert hall), where children can play and relax under the care of fully DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained staff. Father Nathan says: "Alternatively, families are welcome to stay together during the concert, and we don’t mind if little ones are on the move! Feel free to bring toys to make the experience enjoyable for children."

All proceeds will support Torbay United to help vulnerable children and those going hungry in the Bay.

The group runs a mobile social supermarket to help those going hungry around Torbay and also helps support vulnerable children in schools.
They say: "Last year over 1,000 people attended the concert, and we are hoping to build on this this year. "
