Torquay town centre will soon be home to an exciting new venue, offering a dynamic and flexible space for music, theatre, comedy and cultural events.

Opening in late spring 2025, Arena Torquay has been thoughtfully designed with both artists and audiences in mind.

It will feature state-of-the-art backstage and front-of-house facilities, paired with a vibrant atmosphere to host events of all kinds.

Formerly the iconic nightclub Bohemia, the Torwood Street venue is currently undergoing a purpose-built refit to accommodate a variety of events.

These events could include anything from family Sunday bingo to larger music performances from well-known bands and musicians.

With a standing capacity of up to 1,200, Arena will become one of the largest venues in the region. The space will include a main stage room adjacent to a spacious bar, as well as a smaller performance area.

Significant investment has also been made in audio-visual equipment to ensure a superior experience for audiences, including a top-of-the-range sound system and LED screens behind and around the stage.

"Arena Torquay represents the next chapter in Torquay's cultural scene, providing a stage for top-class performances, local talent, and everything in between," says Dan Sheldon, Director of Arena Torquay.

"Our vision is to help make Torquay a top destination for live events, offering a space where unforgettable experiences are created."

“We’re excited to share plans for our launch and subsequent events which will include touring bands, DJs and comedians, plus top tribute acts and family entertainment. The space will also be available for private hire, so if you’re a local business looking for a new and exciting place to hold your next event – we’d love to hear from you!”
