A tree uprooted by the extreme wind

The cleanup operation following Storm Darragh is underway, and we want to hear about your experiences during this weekend of extreme weather.

More than 25,000 homes across Cornwall and Devon have been without power, and hundreds of trees have been brought down by the storm's strong winds.

In Torbay, peak gusts were recorded at 96 mph at Berry Head on Saturday afternoon.

Devon Alert, Devon County Council's highways alert account on X, provided a steady stream of updates about fallen trees and debris blocking roads across the county.

Some roads remain closed as cleanup efforts continue.

In Torquay, smashed glass from top-floor windows was reported littering pavements near Torwood Gardens, while garden furniture was blown across the area. On Facebook, residents alerted others about a tree blocking the road leading to Oddicombe Beach.

We want to hear about your experience and share your photos of the storm. You can share these with us via Facebook or by emailing: ella.woszczyk@clearskypublishing.co.uk
