Storm Bert didn't get in the way of an antiques fair being a storming success.

The Rotary Club of Tormohun (Torquay) is benefitting from the new monthly fairs at the Livermead House Hotel.

Rotarian Stephen Large, of Large Events, started the new monthly fair in association with Tormohun Rotary Club last month. Even though the dealers and visitors had to battle through the worst of Storm Bert, it was very successful.

Local Torquay resident and ex-auctioneer Stephen says: “This is Torbay's only antiques fair, and I am delighted that we can hold these events at the Livermead House Hotel, as it is an ideal, well-equipped venue with easy access and good parking. Coupled with many antiques itself, the hotel is very welcoming with refreshments and food. We had a lot of local interest last month with over 150 visitors battling through the horrible weather and they were certainly busy buying."

The next fair will be on Sunday December 15, from 10am to 5pm - an ideal time for finding those unusual Xmas presents.

Stephen says: "There will be a wide range of interesting antique and vintage items including a specialist Art Deco dealer along with interesting fine china, silver, paintings, rugs and rustic pieces, vintage as well as antique, along with decorative pieces, glassware, ceramics, jewellery, gold and silver.

"Antique fairs are one of the best places to source silver and gold items, especially jewellery.

"This event is being widely publicised, and they are inviting 30 dealers including local charities. Monthly repeat fairs at this venue are booked for 2025."
