A Christmas Carol from Torquay's Royal Lyceum Theatre
Charles Dickens is 'returning' to Torquay's Royal Lyceum Theatre.
The Unleashed Theatre Company are presenting their major Christmas presentation, a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, in their own theatre.
The Royal Lyceum is where Charles Dickens actually appeared in his one man show.
This Torbay Premiere of Alan Menkin’s Broadway blockbuster is a family friendly Musical featuring a cast of over50 local actors.
Martin Harris, the show's director, said: "It’s wonderful to see this major community project take to the stage with many of our local actors having never appeared on stage before.
"We are really grateful to everyone who has got involved Including backstage staff, set builders, prop makers and a host of other costume makers, chaperones and tea makers.
"We chose this wonderful Christmas musical as our festive offering as it reflects very much the heart of Unleashed which is seeing folk transformed and changing into a better version of themselves. Plus it has been an amazing community project which started last April.
"Our cast have been learning all the wonderful Christmas songs throughout the summer months which was a bit weird, but we are confident people are going to love the final product.
"This on the back, two weeks after being awarded the prestigious Kings Award for Voluntary Service from King Charles himself, perfectly showcases the wonderful work of our team of volunteers who work tirelessly to bring the local community together. "
A Christmas Carol runs from Wednesday December 4 to December 7 at The Royal Lyceum Theatre in Abbey Road, Torquay and tickets are available to prep-book from Unleashed Theatre's website: www.unleashedtheatrecompany.com
