An elderly man on a mobility scooter has suffered life threatening injuries in a road accident on the main route into Torquay.
Police are appealing for witnesses and any information following the serious road traffic collision at Newton Road.
It happened at the busy junction with Shiphay Lane at 9.15am on Wednesday August 28.
The collision involved a silver Citroen C3 and the mobility scooter.
The 79-year-old man was taken to Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital with injuries thought to be life-threatening.
The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.
Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to them, but who may have seen the collision, or have dash camera footage, to contact police via our website, or by calling 101, quoting log 213 of 28 August.
