March rainfall totalled 168.5mm in Oldway, records Mark Rowe and Mark Baker. This is over double the long term average of 75.8mm.
March 2023 had 156.1mm, however, March 1947 had 260.9mm
The year to date figure now stands at 476.6mm and from July 2023 to March 2024 there has been 1327mm, over 4 feet of rain in the past 9 months.
There were just 4 dry days in March, the 6th, 7th, 20th and 21st.
Warmest day was 21st with 15.8c and coldest night was 6th with 1.7c.
There were many dull days and although the Easter period was unremarkable, it wasn't quite as bad as the rest of March, weather wise.
Sleet and wet snow fell at lower levels on the evening of 27th and above 400 to 500ft, heavy, wet snow accumulated and was still visible in patches until late the following morning.
