Bays Brewery back to sponsor Torbay Business Awards

Bays Brewery is on board to sponsor the Torbay Weekly Naturally Inspiring Business Awards once more.

A true local success story, Bays Brewery is a family-run brewery, started by brothers Mark and Peter Salmon and brother-in-law Will Freeland.

Founded in 2007, Bays has been producing multi-award-winning beers in Torbay for 16 years.

Director of Bays Brewery, Peter Salmon, said: “As a local, family-run brewery that has been operating on the Torbay scene for 17 years and counting, we’re always looking at how we can give something back to our business community.

“We are very proud to once again be involved in the Torbay Weekly Business Awards 2024 and look forward to saying ‘cheers’ to an inspiring group of companies who are making big waves in business on a local level.”

Other 2023 sponsors that are back on board for 2024 include the English Riviera BID Company, Interline Building Supplies and the Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.

The entries for the awards are now officially open, with a call to businesses and individuals to submit their nominations promptly and not leave it until the last minute.

Entries are set to close on Friday, April 5 and will be judged on Monday, April 8.

Currently, the categories for awards remain the same, but some interesting additions may be on the way in the coming weeks.

Categories available now are:

  • Overall Business of the Year
  • Inspiring Employer of the Year
  • Best New Business
  • Commissioner’s Business Community Champion Award
  • Small Business of the Year
  • Award for Innovation
  • Tourism Business of the Year
  • Environmental Award
  • Young Business Person of the Year
  • James Wright Award for Inspirational Leader

Torbay Weekly editor Jim Parker will also present two surprise Lifetime Contribution awards to the community and businesses on the night.

Peter Salmon added: “A big good luck from all of us at Bays and we look forward to raising a toast to celebrate the amazing contribution the shortlisted businesses make to our local economy.”

The finals night for shortlisted winners has already been pencilled in for Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay.

Last year, 200 guests enjoyed a great night of inspiration and celebration at the awards ceremony.
