A serving Devon and Cornwall police officer has appeared in court charged with rape.

A serving Devon and Cornwall police officer has appeared in court charged with rape.

Pc Stuart Mines, 48, appeared before magistrates sitting in Exeter on Thursday February 1.

The charge relates to an incident reported to have taken place in South Devon in October 2022 while PC Mines, who is based in Exeter, was off-duty.

PC Mines was bailed to next appear before Exeter Crown Court on March 1.

He remains suspended from duty.
