Take a bow the Midwifery Mermaids!
The fund-raising team, comprising 13 ladies all working within Torbay Hospital Maternity department, have just completed their final ch-iiilly swim of the year - a midnight dip at Torre Abbey Sands in Torquay on Boxing Day.

Midwifery Mermaids all set for another swim
It signalled the end of the second year of their fund-raising 365-sea swim challenge - swimming twice a week for a year, with no wetsuits allowed and in all weathers! Hence the Midwifery Mermaids name.
Midwifery Mermaid Becci Dawe said: "We have taken part in the Agatha Christie sea swim, supported Shoalstone Pool in Brixham and many many other swims. We have dragged partners, friends, children and dogs into the fun when we can.

"We are raising money this year for 4Louis, a wonderful charity close to our hearts, who supply memory boxes for parents who have experienced the loss of a baby."

Over the two years the Mermaids -  Amanda Kanyi, Heidi Viney, Rachael Warde, Sara-Jane smith, Jenny Pinnegar, Charlotte Phillipou, Dom Heaton, Abi Briggs, Fay Martin, Anna Stewart, Kelly Snell, Liz Smart and Becci -have raised over £2,000.
And they are now planning year three.....
