24 Torbay runners battle for cross country honours

Devon County Championship

A total of 24 junior and adult athletes from Torbay Athletic Club competed in Sunday's final Westward League cross country race in Exeter, which doubles up as the Devon County Championship.
It was a chilly day and recent rainfall meant the course was muddy and slippery underfoot. The standout individual performance on the day was once again Paige Quinn who won the U15 Girls race picking up the Devon Championship Gold Medal.
Paige’s win along with brilliant performances from Scarlett Muscott and Ella Richards secured a gold medal for the U15 Girls Team. Others who won medals in the County Championship included Hayley Ratcliff winning silver in her age category, Sarah Harrison winning bronze in her age category, Leon Snell winning bronze in the U13 boys, Scarlett Muscott winning bronze in the U13 girls and the U17 boys team of Joshua Bradley, Oscar Eve and Lucas Vandeweghe won bronze medals in the team awards. Results on the day were as follows:
SM/VM - 8,000m - 58 Alex Snell 32.31, 106 Anthony Raine 36.29, 129 Martyn Breslan 39.47, 132 James Hartridge 41.07, 133 Ian Hayward 41.22.
U17M - 6,000m - 12 Joshua Bradley 23.11, 17 Oscar Eve 25.38, 18 Lucas Vandeweghe 26.55, 19 Gwilym Lewis 27.11.
U15B - 3,500m - 7 Theo Glew 12.23.
U13B - 2,500m - 4 Leon Snell 9.37, 7 Marlow Kirby 9.51, 23 Adam Holland 11.02.
U11B - 1,500m – 23 Roux Tucker 7.39.
SW/VW - 6,000m - 81 Heather Eve 29.21, 98 Sarah Harrison 30.42, 122 Hayley Ratcliff 34.17, 138 Tessa Hearfield 38.14.
U15G - 2,500m - 1 Paige Quinn 13.09, 4 Scarlett Muscott 14.26, 15 Ella Richards 15.38.
U13G - 2,500m - 11 Annalise Little 11:21.
U11G - 1,500m - 22 Darcy Gibbings 9.12, 24 Ayda-May Snell 9.57.
