The United squad and staff on the Louisa Cary ward
Torquay United visit Torbay Hospital
Torquay United's squad were in festive mood this week for their annual visit to Torbay Hospital's Louisa Cary children's ward.
The ward provides specialist care for children aged up to 18 with any medical, surgical or psychological conditions.
With a number of inpatients and their parents heading into the Christmas period, United assistant manager Aaron Downes and the Gulls players were on hand to lift spirits and raise smiles, spending time talking to the families and staff, posing for photographs, and not to mention handing out a few gifts too.
The club says: “We are proud to support the tireless efforts of everybody involved on the Louisa Cary Ward. This Christmas the Club has launched a number of fundraising initiatives to purchase another valuable piece of equipment for Louisa Cary - with a new parent bed high on the ward’s Christmas list to Santa.”
To help the club reach the £1,500 target, United launched a Christmas draw with a number of fantastic prizes on offer, including a signed shirt, mascot package, £50 Mercure Voucher, one night stay for two at the Cary Arms & Spa, and much more. Tickets are still on sale at Boots and Laces and the Plainmoor club shop until the draw takes place at Boots and Laces following the club's Children’s Christmas Tours on the afternoon of Thursday December 21.
