Running in the night

Twelve miles of forested paths and gnarly moorland trails would be tough enough in daylight conditions but a trio of runners added the extra challenge of running at night with head torches at the Burrator Noir.
Starting and finishing at Burrator Reservoir, Steve Waters 2.09.55 Katie Potter 2.10.11 and Emma Jefferies 2.10.11 safely navigated their way around the trails and enjoyed a fun night of running on Dartmoor.
Jon Pressling took part in the Starcross Shuffle, a multi-lap event where runners could choose how many laps they wanted to complete in the 7hr cut-off time. Opting for a two-lap half marathon distance, Jon did anything but shuffle as he finished first amongst the double lappers in a time of 1.24.27
The gloomy and wet weather at Torbay Velopark Parkrun was brightened up by a great big orange showing as 23 members from Torbay Tri took part in the club's latest grand prix running series event.
Confined to three laps of the velopark, and then some puddle dodging on the final gravel section, Jason Hurford and Naomi Flanagan were the first male and female finishers from nearly 200 participants.
They were joined on the soggy finish line by Dave Brown, Steve Waters, Ben Gerrish, Bradley Price, Jerry Hocking, Debbie Burman, Frank Reay, Nigel Fenn, Simon Johnson, Kate Maslin, Hans Edwards, Gary Burman, Peter Hayward, Katie Potter, Kate Baldock, Mark Maslin, Laraine Gibbins, Andrea Wall, Helen Preston, Naoko McKinnon and Sarah Sweatman.
