Lewis Cholerton, Helen Stanway and Jon Pressling
Torbay Tri Club members have been blowing off the Halloween cobwebs
In Ireland and Kate Maslin took on a rather soggy Dublin Marathon. Based around the city and passing across the River Liffey as well as through Phoenix Park, Kate ran a fantastic time of 3h 23m.
Also on marathon duty, and promising it would be his last race of the season, was Chris Martin. Taking on the Grand Canal Canter, the flat and picturesque course took runners along the Grand Western Canal Path, starting and finishing in Tiverton. After a gruelling season of endurance events, Chris put in a great run to finish in 4.18.56
Exeter was the scene for some spooky racing as City Community Trust hosted a Halloween 10 mile and 5 mile race along the river. A window of weather provided perfect race conditions and saw Jon Pressling take third place overall in 64.21 over the 10 mile race and closely followed home by Lewis Cholerton taking an age group win in 70.46 Completing the tri club trio was Helen Stanway who ran the 5 miler in 45.28
In Calne, Wiltshire the rather aptly named Clock Change 10k saw Peter Hayward and Laraine Gibbins representing the club. The fast and flat course attracted a strong field of runners as the pair crossed the line in 46.07 and 56.16
Club members turned out on mass to provide volunteers for this week's Torbay Velopark Parkrun. Conditions proved rather wet in the lead up to the Parkrun, although perfect autumn conditions welcomed everyone on the day, and so the winter course saw hundred of runners and walkers take on three laps of the velopark. This was the third time this year Torbay Tri Club have provided volunteers in support of their local parkrun.
