Youth group Phab Torbay is on the lookout for new members after a 'phoenix from the fire story'

Leader Mark Thorneywork explains: "We ran as Phab Torquay for 20 plus years and than were taken over in 2022 by Youth Genesis Trust, who changed our name to FAB but within a year closed their charity and our club with it at Christmas last year.|
"But thanks to amazing support from families and volunteers, including a dozen young mentors who have come through Phab and now come and volunteer, and with the help of Imagine This and the Torbay Community Development Trust as well as Phab UK we all pulled together to reopen the club by February last year.
"We are now building our club up again helping around 50 young people every week. We would have spaces for more young people who have dishabilles if they would like to come.
"They need to be able to attend on their own or with an organised one-to-one worker. New members are very welcome."
He added: "2023 was a Phab year finishing for the summer break with an amazing trip to Crealy that we fund raised to help subsidise so everyone could go."
One supporter of the group said: "It is the most amazing club run by an absolutely dedicated man called Mark Thorneywork. He has devoted so much time to keep the club going through hard times and would welcome a few more members. The aim of the club is to provide a safe place for both disabled and abled young people to mix and socialise and take part in activities together."
The club meets at the Barton Baptist Church Hall in Happaway Road, Barton, Torquay, on Mondays (7pm to 9pm for ages 14 upwards) and on Wednesdays (6.30pm to 8pm for ages 8 – 16 or older by arrangement).
