Brixham hit Millbrook for six
Brixham AFC swept Millbrook aside 6-1 in the Les Phillips Cup and continued their remarkable run of form with a sixth successive victory.
New signing Will Hancox came off the subs’ bench as goals by Aaron Wellington, Charlie Johansen (2), Scott Robinson (2) and James Moxon made it 26 in those six wins.
Millbrook’s goal was the first that the Fishermen have conceded during the run.
They are in fourth place ahead of another away game, in the Toolstation Western League, at one-from-bottom Wellington this Saturday.
After their surprise home defeat to Bath City, Torquay United Under-18s got the defence to the SW Counties Youth League Cup back on track with a 4-0 win at Wimborne Town.
The young Gulls now face two important games in the space of less than 48 hours.
Their FA Youth Cup tie against Reading City, postponed at Buckland Athletic FC last week, has been switched to Berkshire tomorrow night (Thurs).
United then meet leaders Bridgwater United in the SW League at South Devon College on Saturday (10.30am).
United’s Women’s team, still grappling with injury problems especially in defence, had lost 7-0 at Exeter City in the National League earlier in the season and they went down by the same score to the Grecians in the Women’s FA Cup at Exwick on Sunday.
They hit the road again this weekend for an NL Division One South game at mid-table Abingdon United.
