Time to 'look on the bright side of life' Brixham

Spamalot

Spamalot

And now for something completely different

Beware of killer rabbits and the Knights of Ni when the musical Spamalot takes to the stage at Brixham Theatre.
Brixham Operatic And Dramatic Society are presenting the show for its first-ever appearance in the town and have some highly talented players to produce this adaptation lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Audiences are promised a hilarious romp through a succession of outrageous, sometimes saucy encounters with the motley crew of the Knights of the Round Table
During their quest to find the holy grail they are visited by the Lady of the Lake, stunningly played and sung by Jo Button who is appearing with BOADS for the first time. Look out for the glorious duet between Jo and Ben Field, who plays Dennis/Sir Lancelot, with ‘The Song That Goes Like This’ and the poignant but funny song between King Arthur (Ian Davies) and Patsy (Nick Erotokritou): I’m All Alone’.
Glamour too, makes it way on stage as the singing, dancing Laker Girls welcome the knights on their journey to Camelot. They have been working hard with the rest of the team, put through their paces by Daisy Bevan who is choreographer for the show.
Jamie Brown, the production’s director said: "Growing up I always loved the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and when I found out that Eric Idle had written a musical based on the film, I knew that one day I would love to direct the show."
Having a full orchestra has always been a feature of BOADS musicals and this will be under the experienced musical directorship of John Budden.
The cast is in fine voice too as Jo Button has been acting as their vocal coach and the excellent results are going to be a hit on stage.
Audiences are guaranteed a fun night and there will be laughter from the moment they first see Patsy and his coconuts to the uproarious French castle scene. A musical that will have everyone singing ‘Always Look On The Bright Side of Life’.
The musical takes place at Brixham Theatre from October 25 to 28, nightly at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday October 28 at 2.30pm. Tickets are available from box office: 01803 415987 or: brixhamtheatre.uk
