Doctor and the Medics
Top live act Doctor and the Medics are to give a Torbay charity a major boost
Following the success of last year’s charity concert, when Katrina and the Waves headlined, local charity ESSW Charitable Trust have announced Doctor and the Medics will be performing at this year’s main event at The Palace Theatre, Paignton on November 3.
The charity has also booked top local band Hybrid5 as support and to lead the entertainment at the after- show party in Stage Left.
"We’re really pleased Doctor and the Medics have agreed to headline our charity concert. They have been such a hit at our previous events," said Ian Coulton, chair of Trustees for ESSW Charitable Trust.
He added: "Hybrid5 supporting and providing the entertainment for the aftershow party guarantees a great night."
ESSW Charitable Trust have been running annual high-profile music and comedy events for a number of years, welcoming Mick Miller, Bobby Davro and Gary Delaney, and top bands from the 70’s and 80’s such as Bad Manners, The Sweet and Katrina and the Waves. The events have raised over £25,000 for charity. The ESSW team are hopeful to add to this with a sell out at the Palace in November.
Ian says: "We hope to raise as much as possible for children caught up in humanitarian crises across the world. We are focusing on the famine in Somalia this year and our support is crucial. We run events for everyone to enjoy and raise funds at the same time. Every event makes a positive difference, so do grab your tickets and support a worthwhile cause too."
Tickets are from £12 per person and can be purchased from the Palace Theatre directly or online at www.palacetheatrepaignton.co.uk
