Eva tops the Devon swim ranks

Young swimmer Eva Bissett from the Brixham Marlins at Brixham Swimming Club has risen to the top of the Devon Rankings for 13-year-olds.
Eva has been swimming competitively for four years and, after medalling at the County Championships and finishing fourth at Regionals earlier this year, Eva finished off her summer of racing with an impressive new Personal Best for her 100m Backstroke at the Summer Sizzler Event at the Plymouth Life Centre in July.
This swim earned her a spot on the Devon Team to compete in the National Inter-County Competition, which took place on Sunday at Ponds Forge International Centre, Sheffield. The event brings together all the top age group swimmers throughout the Country to decide the best County.
Eva swims five times a week, over four evenings and Saturday Morning with Brixham Swimming Club at the Admiral Centre on Higher Ranscombe Road in Brixham.
Eva’s coach Kevin Dart said: “Eva is a very conscientious young swimmer. Her attitude to training has matured massively over the last year. She has become much more empowered with her training, every session wanting to know how she did and what she needs to work on to keep improving.
“This has led to the most successful year she has had so far in her young career...Keep up the good work Eva and keep asking questions!”
Eva is supported by both her parents, with Mum Sarah always at Meets and training sessions. Sarah is Gala Secretary at Brixham and was selected as Team Manager for the Sheffield meet.
