Dressing up for the Seafood Feast

England's Seafood Feast - showcasing the culinary delights of the English Riviera - has gone down a treat

The Feast is all about a fortnight of delectable experiences centered around the Bay's USP - locally landed and caught seafood.
The festivities began at Brixham Fish Market with a live radio broadcast.
Goodringon-based Cantina hosted an evening of discovery, as guests delved into the world of wines perfectly paired with sumptuous seafood canapés., the Curious Kitchen's chilli beer battered trio of locally landed fish, complemented by minted mushy peas, madras fries, and tartar, proved a crowd-pleaser and Sandridge Barton made its Seafood Feast debut, offering guests a tour of their winery with oysters, culminating in a five-course tasting menu.
Saturday saw the return of the legendary '7 Chefs from England's Seafood Coast' in Torquay, treating patrons to seven exquisite courses, each carefully crafted by local chefs and paired with award-winning beverages. The surprises of the day were Octopus at Ollies, and Torbay Prawns at The Elephant, a delightful addition to the culinary lineup. The event, benefiting the Fishermen's Mission, was hosted across venues like Number 7 Fish Bistro, The Elephant, Ollies, Rockfish, Offshore, Pier Point, and Otto, with libations from esteemed partners including Sandridge Barton, Lyme Bay Winery, Bays, Torbay, Coastal, and Deck Chair Gins.
Goodrington's SEAFEST was a resounding success, featuring a medley of arts, performances, and interactive sessions. From theatre and music to water sports and beach cleanups, there was something for everyone. A Parade of the Sea brought the community together.
Loluli's pop-up at Otto brought a burst of flavour and flair to the evening and Sunday morning kicked off with a beach run at Sea Dogs, accompanied by homemade mackerel dog treats. Local vet and owner John Mather from The Greenbay Vets shared invaluable insights into the benefits of seafood and seaweed for furry friends.
At Cantina, the All Hands On Deck sea shanty group set the mood, raising funds for the worthy RNLI while Pier Point fired up the BBQ. England's Seafood Feast continues until October 15. Visit www.theseafoodfeast.co.uk
