Torquay United Under-18s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 6-1 FA Youth Cup win at Bovey Tracey last Thursday night and followed it up with a 3-2 SW Counties Youth League victory at Mangotsfield Town at the weekend.
It’s been a good way for new manager Kevin Wills to start – the former Plymouth Argyle, Torquay United and Truro City midfielder has taken over from Ryan Dickson.
The win at Bovey has given the young Gulls a 2nd Round Qualifying FA tie at home to Falmouth Town next midweek (tbc).
But this Saturday (10.30am) they also meet Fairford Town Academy in the SW league at South Devon College.
It gets no easier for the United Women after their promotion to National League level last season. NL Division One SW leaders AFC Bournemouth ran out 5-0 winners, despite some brave defending by the Gulls, at Newton Abbot.
This Sunday, United travel to the Exwick Sports Hub in the League Cup to meet an Exeter City side who beat them 7-0 in the league recently.
