Police picture appeal after Paignton robbery

Police investigating reports of an elderly man being robbed in Paignton have released images of two people they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

The victim, a man in his 80s, was approached on Garfield Road by two unknown women at around 5pm on Friday September 1.

The women asked the victim for directions which he began to provide before one of the women pulled the man towards her in a bear-hug. As this happened, the other women pulled off his Rolex watch causing him injury to his wrist.

Both women made off from the scene with the watch.

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesman said: "While we appreciate that the images are not of a high quality, we are still appealing to the public as someone may recognise them. Anyone who has any information is asked to contact us via the website quoting reference number 50230238260."
