The West of England ARA 10-regatta Championships finished with the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta
Unfortunately, three of those ten regattas were cancelled due to weather conditions. They were Paignton, Torquay and Falmouth rowing regattas.
Paignton’s excellent season ended with two Championship wins. The Open Senior C coxed fours title was won by Sam Brueton, Nick Brown, Ethan Frost, Yuri Allasia, Mike Lister, Rob Harris and James Tookey (cox) and Keira Brueton won the Ladies Novice single sculls Championship.
Three crews from Paignton will now be representing the West of England ARA at the South Coast Rowing Championships at Folkestone on September 16. The Junior coxed fours crew will be Sam Brueton, Nick Brown, Ethan Frost, Yuri Allasia and cox James Tookey; the Junior/Senior coxed fours crew will be Rob Harris, Mike Lister, Ethan Frost, Yuri Allasia and cox James Tookey; and the Ladies Junior coxed fours crew will be Freya Martin, Isla Unwin, Erin Mooney, Eva Birchell and cox James Tookey.
Two crews will race in the open events. At ladies Under 16 coxed quadruple sculls the crew will be Freya Martin, Isla Unwin, Erin Mooney, Eva Birchell and cox James Tookey and at Open Under 16 coxed quadruple sculls the crew will be Marcus Green, Oliver Chalk, Hugo Dossett, Josh Bradley and coz James Tookey.
