The ultimate bowls derby
The annual bowls match between Paignton BC and Paignton Torbay BC was concluded on Sunday for the Presidents Shield.
Paignton BC, the holders played the first leg at home, winning by 45 shots overall. They had to travel to Paignton Torbay BC (just across the car park) for the return match, again being the successful team and winning this leg by 57 shots (a total of 102 shots over the two legs).
Cream Teas were provided by both club’s ladies at the respective home matches followed by a social drink after each game. Following the last match the Captain of Paignton Torbay B.C., Ian Dibley presented the Shield to John Ball Vice President for Paignton B.C. who gladly accepted the Shield to return it to its place of honour at PBC.
