Babbacombe Fayre
Babbacombe Fayre is back with a bang.
Rotary's traditional fayree on the Downs returns this Sunday (August 13) and promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
After an absence of several years, the popular community event is back with some exciting attractions for all the family even including the family dog.
This charity event has always been a favourite in Torbay’s calendar and now will be celebrating its 65th year under the new leadership of The Rotary Club of Torbay Sunrise. New attractions for this year will be the fun dog show at midday with plenty of prizes up for grabs and a classic army vehicle collection. Visitors can also expect a special visit by Torquay’s famous therapy pony, Patrick.
More than 70 stalls will be gathering on the Downs, including traders and charities, as well as the traditional tombolas, hooplas, bric-a-brac, books, plants, crafts and toys. There will also be all manner of delights to eat and drink at the various outlets.
The day runs from 10am until 4pm with entertainment throughout the event. The line-up includes the Babbacombe Ukelele Strummers, young performers from the Razzamatazz Stage School, Tai Chi, Zumba and local soloist songstress Anais. Official comperes on the day will be Torbay Hospital Radio.
President of the Rotary Club of Torbay Sunrise, Andy Uglow, said: "It’s so great to see this community event return to Babbacombe and we are looking forward to 2023 being a bumper year."
