Amazing achievement for Torbay Tri Club
Going long at the Outlaw Triathlon in Nottingham, a team of six hardy Torbay Tri Club members successfully completed the full distance event, comprising a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and marathon run.
Offering up a fast course for first timers and experienced triathletes alike to blast around, it was long-distance debutant Jason Hurford who raced his way to a superb time of 10.09.33, followed home by excellent times from Jon Parkinson 11.47.13 Ben Flower 12.15.37 Nigel Fenn 12.34.29 Samara Taylor 14.11.26 and Linda Hope Bacher 15.39.35
Up north in Sunderland, Donald Brooks successfully defended his Standard Distance British Championship crown, taking the finish line tape in a super-fast time of 1.54.07 and, in the process, claimed the title for a third consecutive year. Following a choppy swim and technical bike, Donald ran away with the win over the final 10k run.
Down in Cornwall and the Padstow to Rock Swim attracted a group of club members to take on the unique one-mile crossing of the beautiful Camel Estuary. Gary Brenton, Rachel Carter, Catherine Pinnegar and Rebecca Procter all participated and helped raised money for the event's Marie Curie Charity.
