Mark Smith, Nick Robinson and Heather Eve
The Cornwood 10k
The crazy gang of Torbay Athletic Club endured horrendous weather conditions to record some admirable times at the Cornwood 10k.
Proudly wearing the red and gold of Torbay AAC, the quintet of members pulled out some excellent running, which was certainly character building on the undulating terrain.
The finisher for the club was Nick Robinson, who was 32nd in a super time of 46:53. Heather Eve was hot on his heels to claim a female veteran prize, and 38th overall, with a time of 47:39.
Just 22 seconds behind Heather was Mark Smith, recording a time of 47:57 in finishing 41st. Nadine Lee was 82nd in 55:11 and Ian Sharrock 113th in 1:00:32.
Well done to all for ignoring the ‘summer’ weather in recording excellent times. It was then off to the Cornwood Inn, where there was an excellent choice of beers and folk music, very much deserved for all the runners.
