Fun times at Furzeham
Primary School in Brixham surging through the summer with packed events schedule
Furzeham Primary School has been getting in the mood for the summer holidays with a series of events designed to keep children and parents engaged and motivated, with the added bouns of raising some extra funds.
The end-of-term festivities began with a superb Summer Fair, which took place on the picturesque Furzeham Green, supported by families, friends and the wider community, including local businesses.
In under two hours, the School raised £2,500, which will be used to enhance the childrens’ education. To add some extra fizz to the day, visitors were treated to a band playing throughout the event, which was Yvonne's ukele family and friends band and included two pupils.
The second event was the traditional school sports day, which again was held on the Furzeham Green and featured a mass school picnic over lunchtime for children, family and friends.
Competitive events were held throughout the morning and they also had a fun obstacle course, which all children were involved in. The day included a toddlers’ race, and the much-anticipated mums and dads race. The children's successes were celebrated with medals and stickers in another fun-filled whole school event.
The third very exciting event taking place on Friday, July 14 is the Key Stage 2 production of The Lion King…here are the details:
