Torquay’s oldest pub set to reopen with promise to restore its traditional charm

The Hole in the Wall, Torquay's oldest pub, is set to reopen its doors after a new local partnership, Yellow and Blue Enterprises, reached an agreement with Stonegate to revive the historic venue.
Torquay’s oldest pub is set to reopen its doors, with its new team promising to preserve its traditional character and restore its place as a pillar of the local community.
The Hole in the Wall has long been a favourite among locals and visitors.
Many were hugely disappointed when the pub was forced to shut down in April 2025 due to financial difficulties.
However, a new local partnership is bringing the historic venue back to life, giving loyal customers the chance to return for a pint in familiar surroundings.
Yellow and Blue Enterprises, a new partnership led by the owner of Torquay United Football Club, has reached an agreement with Stonegate to reopen the much-loved pub, which dates back to around 1540.
The pub’s formal launch night will take place tomorrow (Thursday, 28, 2026), featuring live music from Drew Millen and friends, who have performed at the venue in the past.
The partnership brings together a small team of locally based business professionals who have years of experience in running pubs in Torquay and the surrounding area.
The team know The Hole in the Wall very well and are passionate about restoring the pub’s warm, traditional atmosphere that it is known for.
A spokesperson for Yellow and Blue Enterprises said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be reopening The Hole in the Wall.”
“It’s an iconic Torquay pub with a fantastic history, and we want to build on that heritage and make it a thriving part of the community once again.”
“We’re a local team who know the area and the pub well, and we’re excited to offer visitors a warm welcome in a venue with such a strong sense of character.”
“There are some exciting ideas in the pipeline, and we’re looking forward to sharing more in the coming months.”
Leading the management team is Stefan Bradley and Agne Jureviciute, who have almost 20 years of experience running venues in Torquay.

They hope to continue the pub’s tradition of serving quality ales and beers, excellent wine and good food, alongside regular live entertainment.
The future of The Hole in the Wall is looking bright, with the team teasing plenty of exciting plans.
Customers can look forward to enjoying high-quality drinks in a traditional pub atmosphere, with the kitchen also expected to be reopening in the future.
There have also been discussions about hosting evenings where Torquay United players could meet supporters at the pub, giving fans the opportunity to meet their favourite players.
However, despite these plans, the team has made clear that the Hole in the Wall will remain true to its roots and will not become a sports bar.
Instead, the aim is to preserve the character that has made the pub a local landmark, while welcoming a new generation of customers through its doors.
