Panto auditions

Auditions are to be held for young dancers who want to appear in this year's Beauty and the Beast pantomime at Torquay's Princess Theatre.

This festive season, panto magic will be sprinkled in abundance as the Princess Theatre welcomes a new, multi-award-winning pantomime production company to the venue - with a wealth of experience and a proven track record of delighting audiences across the country.
Jordan Productions will be presenting the classic ‘tale as old as time’, Beauty and the Beast, in true pantomime style, with live music, stunning sets, slick choreography, sensational costumes and of course, plenty of audience participation and panto fun.
Beauty and the Beast takes to the Torquay seafront stage from December 9 until New Year's Eve (December 31).
The Princess Theatre's seasonal spectacular promises to end 2023 with magic, music and laughter like you’ve never seen before. A baddie wanting boos, goodies with some gags, a heroine in hot water... But what has happened to the handsome prince? Watch this spectacular adventure as Dame Dotty and son, Potty Pierre, cause chaos at the chateau.
A spokesperson said: "Jordan Productions and the Princess Theatre promise live music and rip-roaring adventure in a panto full of Oo La La-ughs that will be ‘simply the beast’!
"The Young Company are an integral part of our pantomimes, and we are excited to announce our open audition dates for the 2023 season!"
Dancers will need to be aged over eight years and under 18 and able to commit to the full rehearsal and performance period from November 27 until New Year's Eve.
Before starting their applications, it is recommended dancers obtain the signed permission of their head teacher - dancers will be able to audition if they do not have permission for taking time off school if successful.

The open auditions will be held at All Saints' Church Hall in Bampfylde Road, Torquay, on Saturday, September 23.
