New club member Gavin Priest completed the Lakesman Triathlon at Derwentwater
Set against the backdrop of Cumbria's breathtaking natural beauty, new club member Gavin Priest successfully completed the Lakesman Triathlon.
Based in Keswick, Gavin began his race with a 1.2-mile swim in the scenic lake of Derwentwater before a 56-mile bike that rode between the mountain and sea before a final 13.1-mile run through beautiful countryside to cross the line in 6.37.33
One of the oldest and most iconic sportives in the UK, the Dragon Ride comes with a fierce reputation as also being one of the toughest, as Simon Loten found out this weekend.
Taking on the 98-mile challenge, including almost 8,000ft of ascent and sweeping climbs through the Brecon Beacons, Simon well and truly slayed the dragon with a time of 7.23.17 in the saddle.
