Plymouth Argyle secured their third consecutive league win with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Luton Town at Home Park, moving temporarily into the Sky Bet League One top ten.

The game’s only goal came on the stroke of half-time, when Brendan Galloway finished acrobatically from close range following a flicked header by Lorent Tolaj. The goal capped off another defensively solid display from the Pilgrims, who kept a clean sheet for the third match in a row.

Manager Tom Cleverley named an unchanged starting XI from the previous week’s victory at Peterborough United. Conor Hazard started in goal behind a back four of skipper Joe Edwards, Galloway, Mathias Ross, and Alex Mitchell. Joe Ralls partnered Malachi Boateng in midfield, while January signing Ronan Curtis made his Home Park debut, supported by Matty Sorinola on the left and the strike duo of Bim Pepple and Tolaj up front.

Argyle began on the front foot, looking dangerous down the flanks. Sorinola’s early cross nearly found Tolaj, while Mitchell narrowly headed wide from a free-kick. Luton's former Pilgrim Nigel Lonwijk blocked a goalbound shot, and Pepple’s effort was cleared off the line, but Argyle’s persistence eventually paid off with Galloway’s opener.

Luton pressed in the second half, with Kasey Palmer forcing a fine save from Hazard and Shayden Morris nearly equalising from a cross, only for Ross and Mitchell to make crucial interventions. Cleverley responded by switching to a back five, bringing on Kornel Szucs for Pepple to shore up the defence.

Despite late chances for Curtis, Tolaj, and substitute Caleb Watts, Argyle held on for a deserved win. The full-time whistle sparked jubilant celebrations, particularly from Ross, who celebrated in front of the St Luke's Hospice Lyndhurst Road Stand as the team congratulated Hazard.

Argyle now look forward to Tuesday night’s home clash with Mansfield Town, aiming to maintain their winning streak and keep their momentum in League One.
