A festive charity concert will take place in Plymouth next month to raise money for the Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Constable’s Foundation and its chosen charity for the year, Luna’s Fund.

Organisers say there is still time for local residents to book tickets and enjoy an evening of seasonal music.

The Spirit of Christmas concert will be held on Wednesday 17 December at the Plymouth Methodist Central Hall on Eastlake Street.

The performance will feature The Legacy Choir, with guest appearances from Italia Conti Associates and several former members of the Plymouth Area Police Choir.

Luna’s Fund is a Plymouth-based organisation that provides practical and emotional support to parents and families who have experienced the loss of a baby.

The charity helps families after the death of a baby before, during or after birth by offering immediate assistance, including support services that can be accessed as soon as families leave the hospital.

Plymouth Police Commander Chief Superintendent Matt Longman, who plans to attend the concert, said: “This promises to be a fantastic evening for a really good cause and we want as many people as possible to come along and enjoy the concert. Please don’t delay, book your tickets now to avoid disappointment.”

The Chief Constable’s Foundation works within the police force to raise funds for projects that benefit the community.

It provides grants to local charities and initiatives that reflect the values of Devon and Cornwall Police, with a focus on supporting vulnerable people and strengthening community links.

Members of the public attending the concert are asked to arrive from 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Local dignitaries and invited guests will attend, alongside police officers and volunteers. Police Dog mascot Bravo is also expected to visit pupils at a nearby primary school earlier in the day to share Christmas greetings.

Two youth carol services will take place at the same venue at 10am and 1pm on 17 December.

Evening concert tickets cost £5 for adults, with free entry for anyone under 18, with tickets bookable through TicketSource, and further information about Luna’s Fund available on the charity’s website.
