*UPDATE - 17:15 - News Desk and Media Manager Stefan Gordon told The Moorlander:

"We received a report that a gritter had overturned on Moretonhampstead Road, Lustleigh, at around 3.20pm.

The driver is currently believed to have sustained minor injuries.

A road closure is currently in place due to the incident and motorists are advised to avoid the area."

The A382 is currently blocked in both directions this afternoon (Sunday 9 November) after a gritter overturned between Pepperdon Hall Lane at Moretonhampstead and Knowle Road near Lustleigh.

The incident was first reported shortly after 4pm, with the latest update at 4.33pm stating that traffic is slow-moving in the area. 

Earlier reports indicated that while the road was closed, traffic had been “coping well”.

Police are at the scene and have described it as an ongoing incident. 

Motorists are being urged to find alternative routes or expect delays.

There are currently no official details on injuries, other vehicles involved, or the cause of the overturning. 

Devon & Cornwall Police have been contacted for further information, and more updates will follow as soon as they are available.
