Frontline workers across Devon are being invited to enjoy a free day at Exeter Racecourse this Sunday (23 November) as part of the annual Devon Air Ambulance Raceday, one of the region’s biggest public shows of support for the life-saving charity.

Blue Light Card holders can enter free on a first-come, first-served basis.

The raceday has become a regular fixture in Devon’s calendar, bringing together families, racing fans, community groups and volunteers to highlight the work of Devon Air Ambulance, which operates 365 days a year across the county.

A dedicated children’s area will be set up in the Best Mate Room, offering crafts, a Punch and Judy show and glitter art in a warm indoor space overlooking the course.

Popular bars, food stands and bookmakers will all be open throughout the day.

Exeter Racecourse said it aims to use the event to strengthen its community links, with ongoing work that includes Racing to School sessions, charity ticket donations and educational partnerships.

General Manager Jack Parkinson said:

“This raceday is a firm favourite and we’re delighted to throw our support behind Devon Air Ambulance. They’re an essential service for the Westcountry and every penny raised helps keep their helicopters in the air. Come and trade the sofa for a cracking Sunday at the races and enjoy being part of something that really does save lives.”

Free buses will run from Exeter St Davids at 10.45am, returning at 4.30pm, on a first-come, first-served basis.

This comes after The Moorlander previously reported on the ELF Raceday, where the racecourse will again raise funds for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund through festive activities and community support.
