A South Devon charity raising money for children in crisis around the world is turning to music for its latest fund-raising venture.
The ESSW charitable trust raises money to support children caught in humanitarian crises overseas
Neil Robinson, one of the trustees, said: "Whilst child poverty is a problem in this country, children are dying unnecessarily overseas and the situation has got far worse following the Trump Administration’s change in foreign aid policy. These poor souls are in desperate need of our help. You will have seen some of the news reports, the number of children being affected are on the rise and it’s heartbreaking to see it."
A recent joint golf day (with the Trevor Ward Foundation Trust) and concert weekend raised nearly £3,000 for the charity.
"Our efforts have allowed us in this year alone to donate over £6,000 to charities in Gaza and Afghanistan and to the Polio Plus scheme that is operated in multiple countries. We will shortly be contributing towards the cost of sending a truck bound for Ukraine with supplies to support children there and it won’t stop there," said Neil.
The next event that the charity is holding is the Aish Fest music festival in the picturesque grounds of Stoke Gabriel Cricket Club on Sunday September 7. "We hope people will come along to enjoy the music and support those in desperate need," says Neil.
Tickets are available online from the ESSW website or Eventbrite or people can pay directly into the charity bank account. The charity is offering a corporate package for £250, for this it will promote a company's brand on socials and during the day and they will receive 10 tickets to share with family, friends or colleagues.
Neil says: "We know that times are tough but not as tough as they are for these children, so we truly hope you’ll be able to support this event and if you are able we would appreciate it if you could let us know soon.
Whether you can attend or not, can I ask you to share with friends, family and business acquaintances please."
